About the journal
The Acta Prima Aprilia was founded in 2016 in order to establish plausible deniability to future hiring committees on behalf of founder, editor, and long-time journal contributor Michael B. Lund while a graduate student at Vanderbilt University.
Since then, the journal has been pleased to welcome other submitters over time as we promote a general mission concept that it is possible, and fun, to show that science is an extremely creative endeavor. Acta Prima Aprilia also views its issues as a chance to showcase the intersections of popular culture (both past and present) and science in ways that are beyond the scope of most more established astronomical journals.
